Scheduling Runs
Once you have a hometurf, you can schedule runs for others to join. This is where you turn your route into a shared experience.
Scheduling a Single Run
From your Hosting dashboard:
- Find your hometurf in the list
- Click Schedule Run
- Pick your date and time
- Set participant limits (optional)
- Confirm and you're done
What to Consider
| Setting | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Date & Time | Pick times that work for you consistently |
| Max Participants | Start small (3-5) until you're comfortable |
| Anticipated Pace | Helps runners know what to expect |
Recurring Schedules
For regular runs, set up a recurring schedule instead of creating each run manually.
Available Patterns
- Weekly — Same day each week (e.g., every Tuesday at 7am)
- Bi-weekly — Every other week
- Monthly — Once a month on the same day
When creating a recurring schedule, you'll also set an end date — how far into the future to create runs.
Example:
"Weekly on Saturdays at 9am, until March 31st" creates runs for every Saturday between now and that date.
Conflict Detection
The system automatically checks for conflicts when you schedule:
- Hosting conflicts — You're already hosting another run at that time
- Joining conflicts — You've joined someone else's run at that time
If there's a conflict, you'll see a warning. You can still proceed if you want, but it's something to be aware of.
Editing a Run
Already scheduled but need to change something?
- Open your run from the Hosting dashboard or My Schedule
- Click Edit
- Update the details
- Save
Note: Participants will receive notifications about significant changes (time, date, cancellation).
Canceling Runs
Things happen. If you need to cancel:
- Open the run
- Click Cancel (or the ✕ button)
- Confirm
All confirmed participants will be notified automatically.
No Participants?
If no one has joined yet, you'll see a Delete option instead of Cancel — this simply removes the run without sending notifications.
Calendar Export
Want your scheduled runs in your calendar app? Each run has a Download to Calendar button (📅) that creates an ICS file you can import.
