Manage your personal information and control how you experience the platform.
Your Profile
Your profile is visible to other runners and hosts. It includes:
- Avatar — Upload a photo
- Name — How you're displayed
- Bio — A short intro about yourself
- Location — Where you're based
- Badge collection — Achievements you've earned
Host Crown Badge
If you're a host, a crown icon appears next to your name throughout the app:
- 🟡 Yellow crown — You're a registered host
- 🟢 Green crown with checkmark — You're a verified host, meaning you've been approved and validated by the Hometurf team
The verified status helps runners identify experienced, trusted hosts. You'll see this badge on run details, chat messages, and participant lists.
Editing Your Profile
- Click your avatar in the header
- Select Profile
- Click Edit to make changes
- Save when done
Tip: A complete profile with photo helps hosts and runners feel comfortable when you join their runs.
Settings
Notification Preferences
Control how you receive updates via the unified Notification Preferences modal:
- Toggle Channels: Enable/Disable Push and Email notifications.
- Granular Controls: Choose which types of updates you receive, such as community news or run tips.
- Immediate vs Digest: Configure your preference for immediate alerts or weekly activity digests.
Account Actions
Manage your account:
- Change email address — Update your login email
- Change password — Update your password
- Delete account — Permanently remove your data (GDPR)
Privacy
We take your privacy seriously:
- Your email is never shared publicly
- Location is optional
- You control what's visible on your profile

How do I become a host?
Earn 3 Tier 2 badges as a tourist first. See Badges & Gamification.
Can I be both a host and tourist?
Yes! Many hosts also join other hosts' runs. Your schedule shows everything together.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent and removes all your data.
